This is only a semi-serious suggestion but … what about this:

Matrix protocol for chat

It (in theory) bridges the website chat functions (clearly you’ve disabled them just as I have in Ansible) with Matrix … and was apparently at alpha-working level some months ago. Might be interesting, but perhaps one to try with a test site
